Terms of Service
These terms set out how you may use Aloom (aloom.ink, “the service”), provided by NomadCarpenter (“we”). By signing in, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Aloom is a learning service: you ask, AI answers, the answers you choose to keep become nodes in your personal knowledge graph, and each day it helps you recall a few of them. Its basic features are free; keeping more nodes than the free limit needs a paid subscription (section 6). It is currently an early version, and its features and how it is offered may change.
2. Eligibility and accounts
Anyone 14 or older may use the service by signing in with a Google or Apple account. You are responsible for keeping the account you sign in with secure.
3. Your content
The questions you write and the nodes you keep are yours. We use them only as far as the service needs — to store them, make answers and review questions, and connect your graph — and send them to the AI providers named in the Privacy Policy for that purpose. We do not show them to others or use them for advertising.
4. Answers made by AI
Answers and review questions are made by AI and may be wrong or out of date. They are no substitute for professional advice on important decisions, such as medical, legal or financial ones. Checking an answer before you keep it is up to you, and what you ask and how you use the answers is your responsibility.
5. What not to do
- Ask about or store anything that breaks the law or infringes someone else's rights
- Put another person's personal information into a question without their consent
- Call the service in bulk by automated means, or try to get around its policies or those of its AI providers
- Use someone else's account
- Probe the service's security or disrupt its operation
We may remove content that breaks these rules or restrict the account. If you believe someone's question or node infringes your rights, write to support@nomadcarpenter.com; we will look into it and take it down where needed.
6. Fees and subscriptions
The basic features are free. There is a limit on how many nodes you can keep for free (currently 20), and keeping more needs a paid subscription. Plans and prices are on the pricing page (aloom.ink/pricing): currently monthly (₩9,900 a month in Korea, $7 elsewhere) and yearly (₩79,000 a year in Korea, $60 elsewhere). Sales tax or VAT may be added depending on where you live.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and handles payment, receipts and refunds. Paddle's buyer terms also apply when you pay.
- A subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it, and is charged at each renewal.
- You can cancel at any time. You keep the service until the end of the period you paid for, and are not charged again.
- You can ask for a refund within 14 days of a payment; see the Refund Policy (aloom.ink/refunds).
- If we change a price, we tell you 30 days before, and the new price applies from the next renewal after that.
7. Suspension and closing an account
You may stop using the service at any time and ask for your account to be deleted by writing to support@nomadcarpenter.com. If you break these terms, we may restrict your use or close your account after telling you, or restrict it first and tell you after when other users or the service are at urgent risk.
8. Changes to the service and ending it
We may change or pause features of the service. If we end the service, we will announce it 30 days in advance.
9. Limits of liability
The service is provided as is. Except for our intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for loss caused by outages, loss of data or errors in content made by AI. Where the law does not allow such a limit, this section does not apply.
10. Changes to these terms
We announce changes to these terms on this page and in the service 7 days before they take effect, or 30 days before for changes that work against you. If you do not agree to the new terms, you may stop using the service and ask for your account to be deleted.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes about the service are settled in the court with jurisdiction under Korea's Civil Procedure Act.
